I'll definitly try to go to the U of T Reading Series event, they haven't put the details up on their website but I'll keep an eye on it. view post
Scott (or anyone else who may know the answer to this), I have never attended any of the U of T reading series before, is there generally time afterwards for autographs and such? I know they say there are autographed copies of the book available but I already have TTT

When are you going to come down to Chicago?
view post
Scott if luck should have it that you can come to Chicago or Milwaukee please let me know I will be there. view post
awww no Winnipeg Stops
view post
There's some awful holes in the tour schedule, I admit. The only thing I can do to remedy (why does the word 'rectify' always make me uncomfortable?) the problem is to write better books and become a big bad ass author man. Some day I will get me a real live American book tour. Chicago and Milwaukee would be too cool. view post
Don't take this as discouragement, but you might find it a bit hard to write books that are much better than PoN.
view post
Didn't I wipe out your slaves a few thousand years back? I tend to be pretty specific with my goals. The question is whether I can be consistent in meeting them. I look at PoN as my [i:1ltlu8xf]Hobbit[/i:1ltlu8xf], remember. The main course is yet to come! view post
Scott---Judging by what you said above, I can only imagine that you see "Aspect Emperor" as your LOTR. Lets just hope it doesn't take you nearly 20 years like it did Tolkien!
view post
Slaves are a dime a dozen. Crunch all ya want, we'll make more!
The Hobbit was a much smaller work than LotR, and if what I've seen here is true, Aspect-Emperor will be a dualogy (something not often seen; with the exception of Gene Wolfe--who seems to have a fetish for the things--the only dualogy I've seen was the Silver Call by Dennis McKiernan). Maybe AE's volumes will each be 2000 pages long?
view post
Well two dualogies. AE and then the series afterwards would be the analogy to LOTR, I think. And given how PON "grew in the telling" I would not be surprised if it ended up as two trilogies. view post
There is going to be a series after Aspect-Emperor?! I haven't been hangin out on these boards too long. view post
Yes, another series after AE about the second apocalypse. And Scott also has in mind a stand-alone idea for a book about the non-men/Inchoroi war back in the day that he might write at some point. view post
Arg, if the Aspect-Emperor isn't going to deal with the Second Apocalypse, what is it going to deal with? Don't pull a Jordan on us, man!
A Cûno-Inchoroi Wars book would be super cool, though.
view post
ah man.
not coming within 1000 miles of me.
why do you hate me Scott? whhhhhhhhhhyyyyyy?!!!?!?
view post
Disappointed there isn't a stop on the US East Coast. I ran down the idea of going to the Toronto signing but Google says Toronto is further from New York City than I thought. view post
I've asked my publicist to find out if that is the case, but so far I don't know.
It would be very cool, though. I think I owe him a dozen or so beers...

Grrrrrrr, one of these days I am going to have to do something about all my favourite authors being Canadian and not coming to the UK to do book signings.
Damn, both you and Erikson as well... in the same room... I think I am going to have to go and cry in a corner right now (hmmmm that or start planning elaborate kidnappings
)
view post
Erickson must do signings in the UK... after all The Bonehunters is coming out in the UK what this week or next week? And we have to wait till April here Of course I'm half-considering ordering it from Amazaon.co.uk and paying the extra money to have it shipped aqnd get it early.
view post
What you mean that same Bonehunters book which I am 4-500 pages into already? I haven't heard anything about Erikson anywhere round here, but then again I hadn't been looking out for it, must ask around though.
Nonetheless, still waiting for Scott to come over...
view post
Damn you Peter.... lol I don't know anything fot sure, but since he is almost as British as Canadian I figured he would do the occasional tour and signing there on the dime of his UK publisher. view post
[quote="Peter":2ruazpiw]Nonetheless, still waiting for Scott to come over...[/quote:2ruazpiw] Yes, me too... But it won't be anytime near. Hope that will change with Neuropath ! view post
Ouch... I was so happy when i saw you were coming to Vancouver but today I just checked the date again... and realized that you were coming over spring break! I'm going on Vacation!! nOOOOOOOOO Anyway, great to see your getting around the country and hopefully you books get more popular and your touring gets bigger! Hoepfully you have a good time in Vancouver. view post
Man, was kicking myself when I found out you were touring just now (got the book about two and a half hours ago, damn being poor) and I missed it. Oh well. At least you didn't even -come- to Winnipeg. (not that you want to come to Winnipeg around now. Dunno what it's being like over in London, but it's absolutely schizophrenic here. One day the snow's melting, the next day we're getting another foot. WTF? ) Oh well. view post
