I've only read her word trilogy which starts with the Baker boy. Finished reading The Briar King, currently reading Tall Stories by Tom Holt and will be reading the Druid King shortly. :) view post

Haven't read anything by Jones. Right now I'm reading The City of Golden Shadow by Tad Williams, and The Story of Philosophy by Will Durant. Hopefully I'll be getting The Darkness That Comes Before in the near future. Oh, and just to let you know, there's a messageboard for discussion and another for reviews of other literature/fantasy/etc. So you'll probably get more responses on a bookish question over there  Cheers view post

I'm about 100 pgs into Cavern of Black Ice and i think i am the most impressed i have ever been with a book after only a few chapters.... :D She writes brilliantly, and there is plenty of mystery and intrigue that makes the book very hard to put down. view post

I would agree that the second trilogy is better than the first. Pity that it is taking her so long to get the last book out (there seems to be a lot of that about at the moment  ). Anyone heard of a release date? view post

that is a pretty good cover, get rid of the giant ice looking things on it however. has anyone read "The Deptford Trilogy" by Robertson Davies?? I know its not entirely fiction, but it plays into the "You can never go home" theme, which is THE theme of Canadian Literature, which I think Scott used in TWP as well. I wont day where, but it involves Akka and so forth. yup my two cents. view post

J.V. Jones new books are among my favs. They really put to shame her earlier material. Sorry, but it is true. :( view post
