Needing some good suggestions. posted 02 Mar 2006, 02:03 in Literature DiscussionNeeding some good suggestions. by TollofDays, Peralogue

So I have just finished 'The Thousandfold Thought', and now... what? I'm feeling a little lost. I put this series on a very high pedestal. I'm afraid that anything i read after this is just not going to be able to compete. So I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for any authors or books. I would be very thankful for all suggestions. view post

Actually i have read Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy. It was well done and i agree that it was very character based. It was not one of my favorite series but i did enjoy it. view post

posted 11 Dec 2006, 21:12 in Off-Topic DiscussionNames by TollofDays, Peralogue

Like most, I didn't like my name (Bridget) very much as a child. But as I grew older I didn't care anymore. The name Bridget has Irish roots, which i am very fond of. And I don't thjnk I could come up with anything that i would want as a replacement. If i ever have children, I think they might hate me for whatever names i pick out for them. view post

I really liked the names you posted actually. I have never been big on the idea of having children. But i think the names i would choose would be just bad enough to cause them headaches at school. I have always been fond of the name Rumor if i ever had a son. And Loden for a girl. i haven't begun to think of middle names yet. view post

Actually, I have never read those books. But thats a funny coincidence. Usually i do pick out all the names i like from the books i read. Rumor and Loden just sort of popped in my head. view post

posted 04 Jan 2007, 18:01 in Literature DiscussionHis Dark Materials series by TollofDays, Peralogue

I just read it again a couple weeks ago. Its one of my favorite series. In the The Amber Spy Glass, I liked his take on the religious war. How God or The Authority, was only the first angel who decided he would take control. And Dust was the basis for all conscious beings. view post

She is indeed a most diabolical being. You now have the Kellhus image in my head holding a little dog in his arms and saying " That's hot". It is the most frightening picture. view post

Just a thought, do you think a modern day Kellus would use a political angle or a religious one? or both? view post
